Customized Newsletter for Specialist Booksellers

An example of such a newsletter can be found at the website of Schweitzer Fachinformationen or at Massmann International Bookseller.

Settings for customized newsletters can be adjusted through an administration interface.

Administration interface:

  • License to use online interface
  • Configuration of subject areas, type of publication and publication languages, imprints
  • Adjustments such as transmission frequency, titles per newsletter, ‘available books only’, shopping basket script etc.
  • Integration of a supplied or NEWBOOKS commissioned design/template in the newsletter (registration dialogue, newsletter, detailed display)
  • Import of customer data and initial newsletter (i.e. customer information about ‘new newsletter system’ including a link leading to newsletter registration)
  • Customer management and system to create a new customer record
  • Export facility of customer data in Excel or PDF format
  • Optional “manual” sending of newsletters through online interface
  • Editor for creating own editorial content (incl. image upload facility), which can be added as a covering letter to newsletter.
  • Target group marketing: covering letter can be sent to all recipients or only to certain target groups (e.g. subject oriented target groups)
  • Expandability for ‘editorial reload’ of newsletter, e.g. teaser for certain titles, adding of titles to automatically generated lists
  • Highlighting of top titles as ‘banner advertisement’ within newsletters, flexible positioning of banner advertisement

Procedure

Customers create their own newsletter profiles by registering and choosing relevant subject areas via booksellers/publishers website. Additional filter options are e.g. type of publication (festschrift, biography, proceedings etc.), publication languages (English titles only), imprints (selection of publishers) and medium (E-Book, Mixed Media, CD-ROM etc.).

The number of profiles and according newsletters per newsletter recipient is unlimited. The newsletter’s format can also be selected in order to consumer’s preferences - TXT or HTML format.

Integration & Graphic Design

Thanks to an iframe solution, you will not need any technical input to integrate the newsletter into your website.
If not provided by the bookseller or publisher NEWBOOKS can also a create graphic design according to your corporate design. Graphic design is necessary for registration dialog, a newsletter template and a detailed display shown by click on a specific title.
